About API pH Test Strips
Maintaining the ideal pH balance within an aquarium ensures optimal water quality and contributes to happy, healthy fish, so the handy API pH Aquarium Testing Strips allow regular monitoring so imbalances can be corrected before aquarium inhabitants are affected.
Natural materials, including fish waster and uneaten food, can contribute to pH changes, so the testing kit monitors pH from an acidic minimum of 6.0 to an alkaline maximum of 7.6.
When testing the pH of the aquarium water, it's important to know which pH is appropriate for the species kept within the enclosure, as not all fish thrive at a neutral pH reading of 7.0. Community type fish enjoy a neutral 7.0, goldfish and livebearers prefer a higher pH of 7.5 whereas many Amazonian fish, such as angelfish and neon tetra, thrive at pH levels between 6.5 and 6.8. Mollies and Swordtails will appreciate a pH level of 7.2 to 7.5.
Includes 25 testing strips.
