Keep your fish tanks ecosystem balanced and free from harmful bacteria by carrying out regular Filter Media Replacements.

This Fish R Fun Filter Media Replacement uses a three part system to keep your fish tank clean and your fish healthy. The white filter wool helps to remove physical debris, including waste and excess food. A layer of activated carbon, or black media, filters harmful toxins and metals from the water. The bio rings help to convert harmful bacteria into beneficial bacteria. This filter medium also comes with Zeolite, to remove ammonia from the water.

Please note that activated carbon is effective in removing toxins and metals from the water for around 4-6 weeks, then can start to release previously absorbed toxins. We recommend either changing the Filter Media at this stage, or removing only the black media layer. If you choose to remove only remove the black media layer, the Filter Media should be completely changed every 6 months.
