Rosewood Bamboozlers Coconut Forager Parrot Toy

(Code: RW22329)

About Rosewood Bamboozlers Coconut Forager Parrot Toy

From the Rosewood Bamboozlers range, the Coconut Forager is a stimulating, earth friendly activity toy to suit pet birds and parrots of all sizes, from small parrotlets and budgies to the largest Macaws.

Made from only natural materials including bamboo, abaca (from banana leaf fibres) and coconut shell, based on items that species may stumble across in their wild environments! With no glues, wire or plastic, and all dyes used being pet safe, the Coconut Forager is full of fun and handmade by village cooperatives using earth kind, renewable and recycled materials.

Durable yet designed to be destructed by birds who enjoy exploring with their beaks, the toy consists of two coconut shells stuffed with shredded corn leaves, in which your pet's favourite snacks can be hidden for extra, stimulating fun. A metal clip allows the toy to be attached to the roof of the bird's enclosure for dangling, spinning fun.

Birds need to chew in order to keep their beaks in shape and providing a selection of chewable wooden toys is essential to encourage regular gnawing. Birds have an excellent ability to see colours so will benefit from colourful foraging toys and enjoy the stimulation provided by different shades. A selection of species appropriate toys should always be available within your bird's enclosure and the available toys should be rotated regularly to maintain interest and provide sufficient mental stimulation. Bored birds can become physically destructive including displaying aggression to their owners and exhibiting self-harming behaviours such as feather plucking, and are more prone to behaving badly and developing repetitive behaviours such as head swinging. Suitable toys will help to avoid the issues commonly associated with troubled feathered family members.
