How Does the PetSafe Bark Control Collar Work?
When your dog barks, the vibration sensor detects the movement of their vocal cords and delivers a low-level static stimulation along with an audible beep.
If barking continues within 30 seconds, the collar automatically increases through six progressive correction levels. If your dog stops barking for 30 seconds, the collar resets to the lowest correction level.
For added safety, the collar automatically stops stimulation and enters a rest period if your dog barks 15 times or more within a 50-second period.

About Petsafe Bark Control Collar
As barking is consistently and automatically corrected with a progressive static stimulation, dogs learn very quickly to stop nuisance barking. Beginning with the lowest level of static stimulation, the collar increases through 6 levels each time the dog barks within 30 seconds of a previous bark. If a bark is not repeated within 30 seconds, the collar returns to the lowest stimulation level. An automatic safety shut-off stops the stimulation for 3 minutes, if your dog barks more than 15 times or for more than 15 seconds.
The collar uses the vibration of your dog's bark through the neck to trigger the sensor probe and deliver the correction, ensuring your dog will not be corrected for another dog barking nearby. This feature also makes the collar ideal if you have multiple dogs, not all of which are problematic with their barking, as ultrasonic devices and other methods of correction will leave your other dogs confused if they are corrected without exhibiting an unwanted behaviour.
A bark control collar effectively allows you to communicate to your dog when it is okay to bark, and when it is not. Some dogs will be trained very quickly and will not need to wear the collar on an ongoing basis, while others will associate wearing the collar with not barking, and will need to wear the collar to control their barking in the long term.
Dogs weighing over 3.6kg can safely wear the Petsafe bark control collar, and the standard nylon adjustable collar will fit dogs with a neck size of up to 71cm. The collar uses 1 x 6V battery (Petsafe RFA-67D-11) and each battery will last for 3-6 months, depending on your dog. A low battery indicator on the collar lets you know when the battery needs changed.
