A Natural Christmas Cake for Small Animals

Your small pets deserve a little Christmas celebration too!

The Rosewood Naturals Herb 'n' Hay Party Gateau takes inspiration from a traditional celebration cake, but replaces conventional cake ingredients with a selection of plant-based ingredients suitable for small animal treats.

The main body is made using hay, vegetables and herbs, while the centre is decorated with pea flakes and real raspberry pieces.

This combination creates an interesting feeding experience that encourages pets to investigate, sniff and nibble.

Unlike a complete small animal food, the Party Gateau is intended as an occasional complementary treat.

Perfect for Festive Enrichment

Small animals naturally spend much of their time searching for and investigating food.

The Party Gateau can be placed in a suitable feeding area or enrichment space, allowing pets to explore its different textures and gradually nibble the hay-based structure.

For smaller animals or pets with sensitive digestive systems, break off a small portion rather than offering the entire gateau.

The decorative pea flakes and raspberry pieces are particularly rich compared with ordinary feeding hay, so moderation is important.

Which Small Animals Can Enjoy the Party Gateau?

Rosewood describes the Party Gateau as suitable for small animals. It may be offered in appropriate portions to species such as:

• Rabbits
• Guinea pigs
• Hamsters
• Gerbils
• Rats
• Mice

For chinchillas and degus, which have particularly specialised dietary requirements, the pea and raspberry toppings may be unsuitable. Check with an exotic-pet veterinarian before offering.

Always consider your pet's species, size, existing diet and individual dietary restrictions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Rosewood Naturals Herb 'n' Hay Party Gateau?

Is the Party Gateau suitable for rabbits?

Yes, rabbits can enjoy small portions as an occasional treat alongside their normal diet. Unlimited appropriate feeding hay should remain their main source of fibre.

Can guinea pigs eat the Herb 'n' Hay Party Gateau?

Feeding & Storage Advice

Offer as an occasional complementary treat, not as a replacement for your pet's regular food.

Break into smaller portions where appropriate and introduce new foods gradually.

Always provide fresh drinking water and a species-appropriate balanced diet. For rabbits and guinea pigs, unlimited suitable feeding hay should remain available.

Store in a cool, dry place and remove any uneaten portions that become damp or contaminated.
