A Cosy Hideaway That Doubles as Enrichment

Small animals naturally seek sheltered places where they can rest, investigate their surroundings and retreat when they want some privacy.

The Rosewood Naturals Winter Party Cottage features a covered roof and an open entrance, creating an inviting hideaway for your pet's enclosure.

Unlike conventional plastic houses, the cottage is constructed from gnawable cellulose board coated in meadow hay, giving pets an additional activity to enjoy.

The textured hay-covered exterior and colourful toppings encourage investigation and nibbling, helping to add variety to your pet's environment.

Festive Toppings with Natural Ingredients

The Winter Party Cottage features a colourful roof decorated with a combination of:

• Carrot: Adds natural colour and flavour.
• Crushed peas: Provides a different texture for curious pets to investigate.
• Coconut: Included at a reduced level of 1.8%.
• Raspberry: Adds another fruity element to the festive topping.

The meadow hay coating creates a textured surface that small pets can nibble.

Because the toppings include ingredients that should be limited in some small animal diets, allow pets to enjoy the cottage in moderation and consider their individual dietary needs.

Size & Dimensions

The cottage is designed for guinea pigs, rats and chinchillas. Check that the entrance and internal space are suitable for your individual pet, particularly larger guinea pigs or chinchillas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Rosewood Winter Party Cottage edible?

The cottage is designed to be gnawed and features a meadow hay coating with natural food toppings. Its cellulose board structure is intended for chewing, although it should not be treated as a replacement for your pet's normal diet.

Is the Winter Party Cottage suitable for guinea pigs?

Yes. Rosewood recommends the Winter Party Cottage for guinea pigs. It provides a sheltered space for hiding and a textured exterior for nibbling. Always check that your guinea pig can enter and turn around comfortably.

Can rats use the Winter Party Cottage?

Yes. Rats can use the cottage as a hideaway and enrichment activity. They may enjoy exploring the entrance and chewing the hay-covered structure.

Is the cottage suitable for chinchillas?

Rosewood lists chinchillas as suitable users. However, chinchillas have particularly sensitive digestive systems, so the carrot, pea, coconut and raspberry toppings should be approached cautiously. Consult your exotic-pet vet if you are unsure whether these ingredients are suitable for your chinchilla.

How big is the Rosewood Winter Party Cottage?

The cottage measures approximately 27cm wide, 20cm deep and 18cm high.

What is the cottage made from?

It is constructed from sturdy, gnawable cellulose board coated in meadow hay, with a topping of carrot, crushed peas, coconut and raspberry.

Does the Winter Party Cottage contain coconut?

Yes, but Rosewood has reduced the coconut content from 18.9% to 1.8%.

Can the cottage replace my pet's normal feeding hay?

No. Although the exterior is coated in meadow hay, pets that require hay should continue to have unrestricted access to suitable feeding hay.

Is this a good Christmas gift for guinea pigs?

Yes. The festive toppings, sheltered design and gnawable construction make it a seasonal enrichment gift for guinea pigs and other suitable small animals.

Important Safety & Feeding Information

Place the cottage on a stable surface within a suitably sized enclosure. Check regularly for damage, sharp edges or soiling and remove it if it becomes unsafe.

The cottage is an enrichment accessory and complementary treat, not a complete food or substitute for an appropriate diet. Offer access to the edible toppings according to your pet's dietary requirements.

For animals that require unrestricted hay, always provide a separate supply of fresh feeding hay and clean drinking water.
